GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s southwest side that sent a 17 year old and a 5 year old to the hospital.
Grand Rapids Police are asking the public for any information regarding a late night shooting at an address on Quigley Blvd. SW. Shortly before 10 PM on Wednesday evening, officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival police found two victims, a 17 year old boy and a 5 year old girl. Both children were transported to an area hospital. The on-scene investigation showed that the shots appeared to come from outside the home.
Last night’s shooting leaves the 5 year old girl in the hospital this morning with critical life-threatening injuries. The 2nd victim, the 17 year old boy, has since been released from the hospital.
Investigators from the GRPD Detective Unit are following up, but there is no suspect information or description at this time.
