Pedestrian Hit and Killed on N Telegraph Rd in Monroe County

FRENCHTOWN TOWNSHIP, MI – Monroe County Sheriff Dale Malone is reporting a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash, which occurred on North Telegraph Road, north of Heiss Road, in Frenchtown Township. Car Pedestrian Accident

The crash occurred on Saturday, November 24th, at approximately 5:45 PM.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was retrieving returnable cans from the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling southbound on North Telegraph Road.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Neither the driver nor the adult passenger in the vehicle were injured in the crash.

Neither speed nor alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.

Frenchtown Township Fire Department, along with Monroe Community Ambulance, assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by Deputy Brian Francisco of the Traffic Services Division, along with Deputies Alec Preadmore and Jordan Eyler of the Uniform Services Division.
