DETROIT, MI – A fatal vehicle accident occurred at approximately 4:00PM near the intersection of Fenkell and Hubbell Ave this Thursday afternoon, November 29th, 2018.
Detroit Police Scanner said Detroit Fire’s Engine 53 & Squad 1 responded with DPD 2nd Precinct & DEMS to Fenkell & Hubbell Ave for an injury traffic accident.
A vehicle crashed into a building. This is a fatal accident scene that has been confirmed.
Squad 1 was able to extricate the victim from the auto. Multiple DEMS units responded for at least 2 victims needing to be transported to the hospital.
MI Headlines was told that 3 vehicles were involved. One of those vehicles was destroyed and flipped on its side in the roadway. At 5:12PM Officers on scene have requested two tow trucks to the scene as the cleanup of the accident is underway.
According to Detroit Police, a vehicle refused to pull over for a traffic stop. Instead of pulling over, the driver quickly sped up. The driver of that car blew through a red light where they collided with two other cars. The offending driver was instantly killed when their car flipped where it landed on its side in the roadway.
Three victims were taken to a local area hospital with minor injuries and are expected to survive.
