LAPEER, MI – On Tuesday January 15th, 2019, at 8:26 AM, Lapeer County 911 dispatched Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies to a home invasion in progress at a residence on Hart Street in Attica. The home owner was gone and neighbors were monitoring the premises.
The neighbor was first alerted by hearing pounding noises. Once visually watching the neighbor’s house to determine what was creating the sound, a male individual wearing a hooded sweatshirt emerged and was observed walking around the exterior of the house. The neighbor called 911 realizing what potentially was occurring.
Lapeer County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived and the individual immediately fled on foot into a wooded area behind the residence. A perimeter was established and the woods searched. The individual was located “low crawling” on the ground. The individual was taken into custody without incident.
The individual a 19 year old mam from Flint was lodged at the Lapeer County Jail for suspicion of home invasion. The case will be presented to the Lapeer County Prosecutor’s Office for formal criminal charges within the near future.
