Madsion Heights Police Arrest Man for Human Trafficking

MADSION HEIGHTS, MI – On Tuesday February 12th, 2019, the Madison Heights Police Department Special Investigations Unit made an arrest of James Yun, 36-years-old, for Human Trafficking.

James Yun was arrested at the Days Inn Hotel located at 1331 W. 14 Mile Rd. in Madison Heights. The investigating officers requested that charges be issued against Yun from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Oakland County Prosecutors Office issued the following charges against Mr. Yun: Count 1: Prostitution/Accepting Earnings a 20-year felony; 2) Prostitution/Transporting Person a 20-year felony; 3) Human Trafficking-Forced Labor a 10-year Felony; and 4) Keeping House of Prostitution a 5-year Felony.

James Yun was arraigned today in the 43 rd District Court-Madison Heights and was given a total bond of $250,000 cash/surety. Also, as bond conditions, prior to release Mr. Yun must surrender all passports, is not allowed to leave the State of Michigan, he is required to have a GPS tether, and he is not allowed to have any contact with the victim.

The victim associated with this case is a 33 year old citizen of China that is currently in the United States on a VISA. No further information regarding this victim will be released.

The officers of the Madison Heights Special Investigations Unit and other officers from the Madison Heights Police Department that worked in conjunction with the Special Investigations Unit are to be commended for their efforts on this case.
