Hit and Run Suspect of 12 yr old Apprehended

PONTIAC, MI  – With the assistance of the US Marshal’s Office, the Crash Reconstruction Unit was notified by the Fugitive Apprehension Team that the responsible driver in a hit and run crash involving Christian Castle, a 12 year old boy riding his bicycle, has been captured.

The crash occurred on January 7th near the intersection of Baldwin and Garner in the City of Pontiac.

Dominique Antonio Amos was apprehended in Peoria, Illinois by the US Marshal’s Office after a tip was submitted to the Sheriff’s Office from a viewer of a Channel 7 story regarding the incident recently aired.

Dominique Amos is being charged with failure to stop at the scene of accident resulting in serious impairment or death, which is a 5 year felony, and operating while suspended, which is a 93 day misdemeanor.

Amos is currently being held in Peoria, Illinois awaiting extradition to Pontiac where he will be arraigned on the aforementioned charges.

Christian Castle is now home slowly recovering
