EASTPOINTE, MI – A 21-year-old suspect has been charged in the basement murder of a man in an alleged drug house in Eastpointe.
On March 17th, 2019, Eastpointe Police officers were dispatched to a shooting incident on Normandy Street.
Upon their arrival, they found a man who was shot in the head. He was transported to the nearest medical facility. As of today, Monday March 18th, 2019, the victim died due to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Bill Scruggs, of Roseville.
Based on the investigation of the Eastpointe Police Department and report submission to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Jeremy Michael Schodowski, 21-years-old, from Eastpointe was formally charged with the following.
Count 1-Homicide-Murder-Second Degeee
Count 2-Weapons-Felony Firearm
Count 4-Weapons-Felony Firearm
Count 5-Controlled Substance-Possession of Cocaine.
Witnesses inside the home stated that Bill Scruggs and two others were in the basement when Jeremy Schodowski entered through a side door, ran down the basement stairs and shot the victim for no apparent reason.
Mr. Schodowski was arraigned in the 38th District Court today where Judge Gerds held him on a 2 million dollar bond. The investigation continues.
