TROY, MI – Police is Troy arrested a man, who is in the United States illegally, for a drunk driving offence on March 29th, 2019.
On Northbound Rochester Road just North of E. Long Lake Road, 12:27AM, a Troy Police Officer initiated a traffic stop on the driver of a green 2001 Ford Pick-up Truck who was driving erratically.
The officer spoke with the driver, a 51-year-old man who has been living in Sterling Heights. He admitted to consuming two to three drinks that contained alcohol while at an entertainment establishment in Detroit.
The driver was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations to which he did but the officer noted that he performed poorly. He submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test with a result of .114%. He was arrested and it was later determined that the subject was in the United States illegally and did not have a valid driver’s license registered to him.
He was charged with and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol – 1st Offense and Driver’s License Never Acquired.
It is unknown if he will eventually be deported.
