FLINT, MI – A jury returned with a guilty verdict today, Tuesday April 16th, 2019, for a Grand Blanc Township man who was convicted of 2nd degree murder in the 2018 shooting death of another man outside Kicker’s Sports Bar & Grill in Grand Blanc.
The jury convicted Darrell Patrick Hunter, 49-years-old, of shooting and killing 35-year-old Vince Robinson around 1:45 AM on May 6th, 2018.
In addition to second degree murder, the jury found Hunter guilty of felony firearm second offense, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to testimony at trial, a fight on an outdoor patio spilled into the parking lot when shots were fired. In addition to Robinson being shot twice in his back, two others were also shot during the incident.
Hunter fled the scene and was apprehended about two hours later by Grand Blanc Township police when he returned to the scene allegedly looking for his wallet.
“I want to give credit to the Grand Blanc Township Police Department for their hard work on this case,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton. “Working together, we were able to see justice through and allow the victim’s family to feel a sense of closure,” he said.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 7th
