DAVISBURG, MI – 23-year-old Christopher James Cooper, of Davisburg, was killed when his vehicle struck and tree and rolled over at about 3:30AM on Friday April 26th, 2018.
Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies and the Springfield Township Fire Department responded to a personal injury crash in the front yard of a residence located in the 12000 block of Andersonville Rd.
Upon their arrival, deputies located a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup that had struck a tree and rolled over. The pick-up truck had been traveling northbound on Andersonville Rd, south of Clark Rd when the driver lost control. The vehicle left the roadway where it struck a tree.
Chris Cooper was subsequently trapped inside of the vehicle. Firefighters worked to remove him from the vehicle while Paramedics worked to revive him. They were unsuccessful. A physician from McLaren-Oakland Hospital pronounced the young man dead at the scene.
It is unknown if alcohol use may have been a factor in the crash. The driver appears to have been wearing his seat belt. The victim’s next of kin were notified. The crash remains under investigation.
Obituary for Christopher James Cooper
of Davisburg, passed away, Friday April 26, 2019 at 23 years of age. Born May 29, 1995 in Farmington Hills, Michigan, the beloved son to Andy and Susan Cooper. He is the loving brother of Sarah Cooper and the late Drew Cooper; dearest grandson of Alvine and the late James Cooper and Caryl and Warren Munger. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
Christopher attended Brandon High School and worked for many years in carpentry. He loved cars and enjoyed doing performance work and restoration. He was an avid disc golfer, hacky sack pro and liked fishing, shooting, riding quads and dirt bikes where he liked to “SEND IT”.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at COATS FUNERAL HOME, WATERFORD, (3141 Sashabaw Rd. Waterford).
