DETROIT, MI – In less than 24 hours, a man wanted in connection with kidnapping, carjacking and criminal sexual conduct of a 25 year old woman was taken into custody.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30th, 2019 on the city’s west side. Through great investigative work and the assistance of a Project Green Light Detroit Partner, the community and local media, members from the Detroit Police Department located and arrested the suspect in the area of Trinity and W. McNichols in less than 24-hours.
A warrant package was submitted to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review and approval. The suspect, identified as Alfred Hatchett, 51-years-old, of Detroit, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct First Degree; one count of Kidnapping; one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct Second Degree; one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm; and five counts of Felony Firearm.
He was arraigned on Saturday May 4, 2019 in the 34th District Court in Romulus and received a $500,000 cash bond.
