Farmington Man Charged in Greektown Shooting

DETROIT, MI – Delano R. Ward, 26-years-old, of Farmington, will be formally charged in connection with a shooting that injured three men ages 23, 24 and 32-years-old in Greektown.  Delano Ward

On May 5th, 2019, at approximately 11:55 p.m., in front of a store located on Monroe Street near Beaubien, it is alleged that Delano Ward pulled a handgun out of his pocket, shot, and wounded three men. After the shooting Ward fled from the scene on foot. The three men received medical treatment for their injuries at local hospitals.

Delano Ward was taken into custody by the police on May 8th, 2019.  He has been charged with three counts each of the following crimes: Assault with Intent to Murder; Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm; Carrying a Concealed Weapon; and Felony Firearm.

He is expected to be arraigned on Saturday, May 11, 2019 after 11:00 a.m. in 34th District Court in Romulus.
