ROCHESTER HILLS, MI – The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting deputies from the Rochester Hills Substation in the investigation of a serious injury vehicle crash that occurred on Livernois Road near River Bend Drive today, Friday May 24th, 2019, at 10:53 am.
A 24-year-old woman from Shelby Township was driving a 2001 Pontiac Montana northbound on Livernois Road when she crossed the center-line and struck a 2005 Jeep Liberty head-on that was traveling southbound.
The Jeep was being driven by an 18-year-old resident from Rochester Hills.
The woman who was driving the Pontiac Montana had to be extricated from the vehicle and was life flighted to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital in critical condition.
There were four passengers in the Pontiac Montana at the time of the accident, one adult and three children. The front seat passenger was a 23-year-old woman from Rochester Hills who had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Troy and currently listed in stable condition.
The 3 children seated in the rear of the vehicle were not injured in the crash, but were transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for observation.
The driver of the Jeep Liberty complained of a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital.
This crash remains under investigation.
