Person of Interest Sought in West side Critical Assault

DETROIT, MI – The Detroit Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest who may have information pertaining to a critical assault that occurred on the city’s west side.

On June 21, 2019, at approximately 11:15 p.m. when in the area of Plainview Ave and W. Warren Ave, a 24-year old man was the victim of a critical assault. The victim was walking down the street when a burgundy Dodge pick-up truck stopped and two male occupants inside exchanged words with the victim. One of the suspects in the pickup truck asked if the sister was a prostitute. The brother told the man his sister was not a prostitute. Two men then jumped out of the truck and started kicking, stomping and beating the brother to the point of unconsciousness. After words both suspects then fled the location in the burgundy pick-up truck.

Detroit Police were able to locate and arrest one of the suspects today at approximately 2:50 p.m. However, they are still looking for a second suspect. They believe the person of interest may have information pertaining to the incident and would like to speak with him.

The person of interest is a white male, possibly in his 30’s.
