Oakland County Woman Located after being Reported as Missing

COMMERCE TOWNSHIP, MI – An Oakland County woman was located after being reported as missing by her husband on Friday June 21st, 2019.Alice Phillips

Alice Phillips was found safe at a home in Oakland County some time after 7:00PM today Wednesday June 26th. She is physically fine and has been transported to a local hospital for mental health treatment.

Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2800 block of Pinto Drive for a report of a missing possibly suicidal person.

Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with the complainant who identified himself as the husband of the missing woman who has been identified as 41-year-old Alice Phillips. He indicated to deputies that Friday evening, June 21, 2019 he found his wife, holding his handgun along with a single bullet. He managed to retrieve the weapon from her and minutes later she went for a walk. Alice frequently takes a walk in the evening, so he did not become alarmed. However, when she failed to return home her husband became concerned and called 9-1-1.

The husband stated that Alice Phillips has been diagnosed with depression but refuses to take the recommended medication. The husband had checked his wife’s personal computer and discovered that she had visited internet sites describing how to hang yourself using an electrical cord.

The woman’s husband advised deputies that his wife left the residence without taking her cell phone, house keys, personal identification, cash or her credit / debit cards. A thorough search of the house was conducted. But the woman was not located.

Routes utilized by Alice for her walks had already been searched by the husband, both yesterday
and today. Deputies conducted a search of numerous foot trails using a township auxiliary vehicle, as well as to check local stores and restaurants without success.

Alice Phillips was last seen wearing a blue and grey sweatshirt, blue jeans, is 5’3” tall, 120 pounds and has shoulder length auburn hair. She also has a large tattoo of a rose with top hat on the upper arm. The subject has been entered in LEIN as a missing person.
