Two Arrested for Illegal Dumping on Detroit’s West side [Video]

DETROIT, MI – Two suspects were taken into custody in connection to an illegal dumping incident that took place on the city’s westside.

On Monday July 15th, 2019, Detroit Police were contacted by the Pastor of a church in the area of 17600 block of Joy Road. He had observed on his security camera system on Saturday July 13th, 2019, two unknown males exiting a U-Haul truck and dumping a large amount of debris in the rear alley.

Through further investigation, the investigators were able to identify both suspects and obtain arrest warrants. On Monday July 22nd, the two suspects turned themselves in to authorities.

Investigators submitted a warrant package to the Wayne County Prosecuting Office for review, and was approved for the following charges: One charge each of Littering on Private Property.

The suspects were identified as 20-year old Brandon Novak, of Sterling Heights and 20-year old Joseph Journeau, of Warren.

Special acknowledgments to Detroit Police Department’s Sixth Precinct Patrol, General Assignment Unit, and the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for their contributions in bringing these criminals to justice.
