BENTON HARBOR, MI – On Thursday August 1st, 2019, at approximately 740AM, BHDPS officers came across a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the River Terrace Apartment Complex.
The vehicle, a silver Nissan Pathfinder was subsequently identified as a stolen vehicle out of Kentwood Michigan. The officers then discovered a man sleeping in the backseat. When officers woke him up and were investigating,he fled on foot.
Officers gave chase and but the man was able to double back to the Nissan and then fled in the vehicle. The officers initiated a pursuit; however, the pursuit was called off.
BHDPS is seeking help in identifying the male and also locating the vehicle. A snip from the officer’s
body cam shows the male and the vehicle.
If the individual or vehicle is located please call authorities, do not attempt to recover the vehicle or take the individual into custody.
As of 5:00PM on Thursday August 15th, 2019, BHDPS is released the following information:
A possible suspect has been identified in this matter. Antonio Terryll Wimberly, 17-years-old, of Benton Harbor, is being sought for questioning in this matter. Antonio Wimberly is also currently wanted for an unrelated offense.
