Pedestrian Critically Injured in Monroe County Accident

MONROE TOWNSHIP, MI – A serious injury vehicle / pedestrian traffic crash occurred on Friday, August 16th, 2019, at approximately 11:47PM. The crash occurred on South Telegraph Road, north of Albain Road, in Monroe Township.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle was traveling southbound on South Telegraph Road.

The pedestrian was transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash.

At this time, speed does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Members of the Monroe Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance assisted at the scene, along with the Michigan State Police.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office – Traffic Services Division. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call 734-240-7715.
