OVERISEL TOWNSHIP, MI – A multi-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon left a woman and a child fighting for their lives at this time.
On Saturday September 28th, 2019, at about 2:00pm deputies from the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a crash involving injuries at the intersection of 144th Ave and 43rd St in Overisel Township.
A passenger car stopped at a two way stop sign then proceeded through the intersection where they collided with a pickup truck hauling lumber. Then a third pickup truck collided with the pickup truck hauling lumber. There were two subjects that needed to be extracted from the passenger car. There were 4 occupants total in the passenger car that had injuries.
A 22 year old woman from the Holland area and 12 year old boy from the Hamilton area are listed in critical condition with serious life threatening injuries.
A 10 year boy and 8 year girl, both from the Hamilton area, had minor injuries.
All of the other occupants from the pickup trucks did not have injuries. All four subjects with injuries were transported by Fennville AMR and Aeromed to Grand Rapids area hospitals.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction team.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Overisel Township Fire Department, Salem Township Fire Department, Fennville AMR, Michigan State Police, and Aero Med.
