Huron Township Mobil Gas Station has Major Damage after ATM Stolen

NEW BOSTON, MI – On Tuesday October 8th, 2019, at 3:14a.m., The Huron Township Department of Public Safety Emergency Dispatch Operations Center received a notification from the Wyandotte Alarm Company regarding an alarm at the Mobil Gas Station located at 37330 Huron River Drive in Huron Township. Huron Township Patrol Staff were on scene within five minutes following being dispatched to the location.ExxonMobil

Upon arrival, investigating staff observed major damage to the building. Further investigation revealed that an ATM Machine was taken from the building. The amount of cash taken with the machine is being withheld pending further investigation.

Huron Township Detectives and Evidence Technicians responded to the scene to lead the investigation. Subsequent investigation and video footage initially indicated that a full-size truck was used to penetrate the building. The truck was stolen prior to this incident out of the City of Romulus. The truck and ATM were recovered on October 8th within Huron Township and are being processed for evidentiary purposes.

Three suspects were observed on the recovered video footage. The suspects were wearing items to hide and alter their appearance. No further suspect description is being released at this time.

This appears to be a larger scale operation that has affected multiple cities throughout the Metro Detroit area.
