HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI – The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred last evening, Thursday November 21st, 2019, at approximately 8:45 AM, at the intersection of River Ave and Douglas Ave in Holland Twp.shooting-investigation

A vehicle that was occupied by seven Holland Twp teenagers was stopped at the intersection and at this point an early 2000’s tan sedan with heavy tinted windows had stopped in front of the victim’s vehicle. Witnesses describe that a light skinned black male exited the passenger side of the suspect vehicle, produced a handgun, and fired several times at the victim’s vehicle.

A 17 year old front seat passenger in victim’s vehicle was struck with a round that hit his cellphone, and that seems to have prevented serious injury. The suspect vehicle left the scene, and the victim’s vehicle proceeded to Holland Hospital where the victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported.
